Wynand Fockink is a small bar located on an alleyway near Dam Square, specialising in the art of making of Jenever-based beverages for its customers. It is the former tasting room of a three hundred year old Jenever distillery - the traditional Dutch spirit that bears some resemblance to gin in flavour and origins. The owner of the bar is always happy to share his knowledge of the process of Jenever-making while pouring you a drink to sample, which will mean bending over your glass to sip as it will be filled to the rim (in the traditional Dutch fashion of Jenever drinking). It is also possible to buy bottles to take home as a surprise treat and original present for friends and family.
