8.30 AM : Meet your guide at your hotel in Amsterdam (or other convenient location) for departure to Zaanse Schans. 9:00 AM: Arrival at Zaanse Schans Zaanse Schans: Explore this picturesque, historic village, where you’ll feel like you’ve stepped back to the 18th and 19th centuries. Wander among the iconic wooden houses, and working windmills, while learning about the area's rich history and heritage. Your guide will lead you along the dike next to the river Zaan, passing the iconic windmills and sharing stories about life during the Dutch Golden Age. 9:15 AM – Visit the Last Paint Mill 'De Kat' • De Kat Windmill: This iconic paint mill, dating back to 1781, is the last working paint mill in the world. Learn about the process of making pigments and the role of windmills in Dutch industry. If you wish, you can climb the windmill and enjoy stunning views from the external gallery. 9.45 AM – Cheese Tasting At the cheese farm of Henri Willig, sample a variety of local cheeses, including famous Gouda and Edam varieties.
