Vincent Van Gogh is almost as well known for his ear slicing madness as he is for his paintings, and in the process his image has became an endlessly recycled symbol of the tormented genius. Van Gogh, to many, was ahead of his time, largely misunderstood, and forever turning to art as an escape from this crushing weight. Rivers of ink have blotched and dried in trying to uncover this genius, this deeper reason and rhythm behind his brush strokes, which in turn gives our team of guides an immense amount of material to work with. With this rich amount of content at their disposal, our guides have taken it upon themselves to create a tour which perfectly encapsulates his life and legacy with his hundreds of paintings and drawings as their backdrop. We have ultimately created this guided tour with the further intention of not only engaging with Van Gogh's image in the public imagination, but also how his work was treated by his contemporary impressionists and, finally, by highlighting the genius of not only the man in which the museum is named, but how the tireless work of his extended family caused his worldwide acclaim in the first place. Important things to know before coming: - The meeting point for the tour is outside the MAIN ENTRANCE. It is here that the guide will meet you and you will enter together. The Guide will be carrying a white umbrella. - Due to the museum being in high demand amongst travelers, the start time of the tour can be delayed up to 15 minutes due to queues. The guide however will not shorten the experience, and still give the entire tour no matter the initial delay. - It is also best to give yourself around 2 hours of time for the full experience, not only in the case of delays, but also in the case you wish to spend a longer time with your guide, who may extend the tour depending on the group's engagement in their content. - While the guided tour is not mandatory, it is included as a part of this bundle, and therefore cannot be deducted from the initial costIncludes
