392 ReviewsExplore Amsterdam and hear the story of Anne Frank, her move from Germany, the time she was hiding, and her father's life after the war.
As far as being a world cinema goes, the Filmtheater Rialto scores top marks in content and subject. While not as old as some of the more well know art-house cinemas, the Rialto is a standard in and of itself. Screening hits old and new the Rialto hosts movies from around the world on its 3 screens in true cosmopolitan fashion. The halls are very cosy and comfortable and in the middle is a café where you can buy refreshments or alcohol to take into the movie. The café is also a really nice place to just hang out while you wait for your movie. Occasionally the Rialto hosts movie premiers during the film festivals and goes all out on the show. These parties and the arty, engaging movies on show pull in young volunteers who help with the upkeep and promotion of the Rialto, a tribute to world cinema.
