St. Nicolaaskerk

Amsterdam

Places of Worship

The thing about architecture in Amsterdam is that they pay attention to detail. Everything is so well-planned and intricately designed that you can't seem to take your eyes off the structure. This stands true for the imposing, majestic church known as the Sint Nicolaaskerk, or the St. Nicholas Church, which is probably the first thing you will set your eyes on whilst arriving by train to Amsterdam. Named after St. Nicholas, who is the patron saint said to guard over Amsterdam, the St. Nicolaaskerk was designed by A.C Bleijs between 1884 and1887.  For a complete walkthrough around St. Nicolaaskerk, you can also take part in the guided tours that are available during specific timings.
