Beurs van Berlage
Amsterdam
Buildings and Monuments
Beurs van Berlage was originally built as a Commodity Trading Centre, between 1896 and 1903. It was built by an architect named Hendrik Petrus Berlage, and was distinctive even then, for its unique style of building. The concept with which it was built was far ahead of its years then, and even now seems a little out of place to the modern eye. However, now this building has become an important location and attracts visitors to hold meetings, events and parties at its distinct premises. The Beurs van Berlage, which started as a sort of stock exchange for major companies such as Dutch East Indies Company, now primarily operates as a venue for holding conferences, luncheons, events, parties and official dinners. What visitors can gain from going to this place, apart from admiring the lovely design of the structure, is that there is always some event, exhibition or social function happening there, which they can be a part of. e. Not a bad place to visit,
